Pelser (24-Jun-20): This species was reported for the Philippines in a previous version of this checklist, with reference to Merrill 5375 (B, NY, P) from Balabac. However, Hughes et al. (2010) identified this specimen as Begonia mindorensis Merr. It is, however, not impossible that Begonia subnummulariifolia will be found in Balabac in the future (Hughes, pers. comm. 24-Jun-20).
