In and about towns throughout the Philippines, usually planted, but at least persisting after cultivation in abandoned areas. Photos

  1. Cochlospermum religiosum (L.) Alston, Handb. Fl. Ceylon 6 (suppl.) (1931) 14; --Bombax religiosum L., Sp. Pl. (1753) 512. J.V. LaFrankie (4-Jul-13): "Probably native to india, but one of the early introductions throughout tropical Asia where it naturalizes quickly". Note by P.B. Pelser (17-Jan-21): I have not seen evidence that this species is naturalized in the Philippines. Photos
